A Tribute to Rachel Carson

Earth Sculpting

Drawing inspiration from Judy Chicago’s Dinner Party, I set out to make a place setting that honors another prominent female figure: Rachel Carson. I was particularly inspired by Carson’s work Silent Spring and her direct influence on the environmental movement and legislation around water and land in the U.S. I wanted to honor her using only natural materials such as wood, flowers, leaves, and thorns.
