Rainy Drives (Live Art)
Fall 2019
For this live art piece, I worked collaboratively with two other artists to explore the sensation of being mindfully lost on a rainy drive with friends. I was very inspired by the work of Octavio Paz, and used his poem “Listen To Me As One Listens To The Rain” as a jumping off point. Along with one other person, I created a video and audio experience that was meant to invoke rainy drive experience. We projected this video and played with live audio and video distortions using water. My role in the live art experience involved walking around the classroom, and whispering the phrase “listen to me as one listens to the rain” into the ears of my classmates.
